ROHUFISH

Labeo rohita, commonly known as Rohu, is a major freshwater fish species belonging to the Cyprinidae family. It is native to South Asia and is widely distributed across India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Myanmar. Rohu is one of the most important species in aquaculture due to its fast growth rate, high commercial value, and excellent nutritional content. It is extensively farmed in large water bodies, reservoirs, and artificial ponds, often in combination with other carp species such as Catla (Catla catla) and Mrigal (Cirrhinus mrigala) in polyculture systems.
