Catfish(mushi)

Catfish are a diverse group of fish belonging to the order Siluriformes, comprising over 3,000 species found in freshwater and marine environments worldwide. They are named after their distinct whisker-like barbels, which extend from their mouths and function as sensory organs, helping them navigate and locate food in murky waters. These fish are highly adaptable, thriving in a variety of habitats, including rivers, lakes, swamps, and even brackish coastal waters. Some species, such as the walking catfish (Clarias batrachus), have developed the ability to survive in low-oxygen conditions and can even move short distances on land using their pectoral fins.
